On Thursday, Dec 9th, 2021, BCLA hosted an in-person holiday mixer, our last event of 2021. This event was co-hosted with Braid Theory and featured open networking and a tour of the Braid Theory accelerator. Braid Theory is a vertically integrated venture advisory and accelerator, operating in bluetech and the blue economy, with dedicated technology leaders, providing assistance to startup companies that want to embrace opportunities to amplify their presence in the ocean and marine biology market space.
Held on the pier in San Pedro at the Port of Los Angeles, a major international seaport, the event was kicked off by an introductory remark from BCLA president Kathy Grotsch. With open networking over Indian cuisine, local students, scientists and entrepreneurs shared triumphs and challenges of the past year. We were proud to bring academia and the biotech industry together to drive innovation forward in Los Angeles. The event also had a holiday-themed photo booth and a raffle with cool gifts for attendees.
During 2021, BCLA continued serving the LA biotech community with our mission and vision: inspiring, educating, and connecting emerging scientists and entrepreneurs to grow and diversify biotech in Los Angeles. We are proud to have such a passionate and dedicated team to bring high quality events to the LA biotech community. We want to thank our sponsors, partners and especially our subscribers for the continuous support. We wish everyone a safe, happy and productive start to the new year. We look forward to bringing more high quality events and projects to the LA biotech community in 2022!
