AI LA and BCLA: AI and Biotech Happy Hour

As our first in-person event following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BCLA team hosted a networking happy hour on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence Los Angeles (AI LA). In accordance with city guidelines, we hosted a limited number of attendees at the Broxton Brewery in Westwood. People were excited to be back together for a night of exchanging insights and experiences from the past 18 months as well as sharing new ideas. It was great to see new and familiar faces come together to form connections, helping LA’s biotech scene grow and prosper.

Attendees included a mix of professionals from AI LA who discussed the growth mindset of many groups working in the artificial intelligence space. Additionally, other participants included professionals with an interest in healthcare and tech, consultants, and academics from UCLA and USC, among many others. The event was flexible enough to allow for people to mingle with many different groups while enjoying local beer and delicious food. Brief remarks were provided by AI LA President Todd Terrazas and BCLA President Kathy Grotsch.
