Inspiration filled the room on September 14th, 2023 as pioneering women in the biotech industry united to exchange their perspectives on traversing a male-dominated field. During the event, these accomplished women, Mira Chaurushiya (Managing Director at Westlake BioPartners), Julia Bradsher (President & CEO of Huntington Medical Research Institutes), and Carolina Amador (Associate Director, Corporate Intelligence at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.), engaged in thoughtful conversations about the unique challenges they encounter, their sources of inspiration and passion, navigating decision making within their companies, and the significance of pursuing different educational paths within the realm of biotechnology.


The event also featured a financial advocacy workshop hosted by Morgan Stanley, with presenters Katey Murphy and Kiana Molitor. The workshop not only provided insights into the art of setting oneself up for success but also delved into the intricacies of financial organization tailored to individual goals. Engaging discussions touched upon a spectrum of best practices, from navigating pivotal life decisions to mastering the art of saving and achieving a harmonious work-life balance. Women-centered non-profit organizations added a vibrant layer to the occasion as part of the event's lineup. Women in Bio took center stage, delivering an enlightening presentation that underscored their pivotal role in supporting mentorship and providing a wealth of resources tailored to women at every stage of their careers within the dynamic field of life sciences. The presence of Graduate Women in Science (GWIS), Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE), and Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) further enriched the event, as these organizations showcased their commitment to fostering professional growth, knowledge exchange, and community building, emphasizing their collective dedication to advancing women in their professional journeys.



The event was concluded by a catered networking hour, during which attendees, panelists, and organization members engaged in thoughtful conversations. The event was a testament to the resilience and innovation that women bring to the biotech field, highlighting their invaluable contributions and unwavering determination in pushing the boundaries of science and technology.
