The holiday season is upon us, and we couldn’t be happier about the turnout of our Holiday Mixer. Thanks to our co-organizers — Cal State-Los Angeles and LA BioStart — and our sponsor — University Credit Union — over 80 attendees gathered at the contemporary venue of WeWork Culver City, celebrating the winter holidays on the evening of December 5th. We had delicious drinks from Health-Ade Kombucha and Spindrift Sparkling water that helped us provide an extra festive holiday spirit.
Our Vice-President Evgeny Bondarenko, Ph.D. introduced BCLA and how much we have grown for the past three years. Followed by Professor Howard Xu, Ph.D., Director of Incubator Development and Programming at Cal State-Los Angeles, that introduced the Winter 2018 Bioscience Entrepreneurs Boot Camp. He emphasized that participants will receive intensive training from executive level experts at no cost. A Christmas gift that you don’t want to miss! Later, our Innovator Spotlight speaker Professor Aydogan Ozcan, Ph.D., Chancellor's Professor at UCLA and Professor at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, inspired the crowd with his next generation telemedicine based diagnostics. He also amazed the audience with the lensfree device tracing sperm mobility that can potentially shed light on fertility research.
