Last Thursday night BCLA kicked off the academic year with the Innovation Mixer, co-hosted with Biocom LA. A full house of students, postdocs and industry professionals socialized over free drinks and food at Skylight Gardens in Westwood. Many new connections were made as attendees networked and partook in insightful scientific conversation.
The evening also featured a series of short talks by BCLA’s co-hosts and sponsors, including Dina Lozofsky, Executive Director at Biocom LA, Nick Pyzow, Director at CBIZ MHM and Peter Hallet, Director of Marketing & Industry Relations at SPIE. Additionally, Aukera, the winner of the Innovation Prize at BCLA’s Entrepreneurship Summit 2016, presented their progress and ongoing research developments to the interested crowd.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to Biocom LA, CBIZ MHM and SPIE for their generous support. We at BCLA are eager to contribute to a flourishing biotech community in Los Angeles and events like the Innovation Mixer are critical to that mission.
